Frustrating issue with MSG blackouts

08-08-2006, 09:49 PM
I live in an area that is part of the NY DMA. I get all my NY locals, NY sports (yankees etc.) but My Knicks are blacked out on MSG. Now, this is what gets to me. I called D* and spoke to the program director and he looked up my zip and saw that I actually have no local NBA team. They dont show me the 76's (as they shouldnt because I am in the NY DMA even though I live in PA)

However, they offer me the league pass. Isnt there some kind of FCC rule against this? I mean the NBA has to provide me my team determined by my DMA correct?

They offer the league pass, but I keep telling them why should I pay for that when I cant view any NBA in my zip code. They are blacking me out for nothing.

What can I do? You can see my zip 18337 is clearly NY.

Realostically they can black you out.I live in Ohio, but the cavs arent broadcast on my locals. When FoxSportsnet Ohio televise their games. They blackout,we also have FoxSportsNet Cinncinnati.I noticed thet show duplicate programming except Cavs,Reds and the hockey team.I can't see hockey games or the Cavs in my part of Ohio but it's no big deal. You have settle for the nationally televised games on ESPN and ABC.
