Hi.. I am new to the forums and also a newbie to HD. I have D* through a friend (we share his account) but currently looking to become a subscriber since I've purchased a HD tv. My question is.. now that I have a HD tv what outside dish upgrades will I need. Currently I have a dual LNB running two receivers. I plan to have 3 receivers but only one needs to be a HD or HDDVR. Will I have to change to a 3 or 5 LNB? Also, can someone tell me what are the differences between the 3 and the 5 LNB. Are there any perks going on for new subsribers through D*?

thanks for your time,

You will want the 5lnb dish since Direct is slowly going to shift thier HD programing that way. If you want your local HD channels (if they are in your area) a 5lnb is a must. You will also want a MPEG4 receiver to go with that dish. Your old receivers will work fine with the 5lnb. Being a new customer is the way to go because they care more about new than current customers. You should be able to get free equipment including HD recievers and 5 lnb dish and install. You should also get free movie channels for 6 months and free HD package for a while. Remember when you call play I am thinking of getting Direct Tv or cable what can you offer me. Keep asking " is there anything else" you will get more.

Thanks DWBJ... what are some of the popular/nicer 32-37 inch LCD's that are out? I plan on using mine for sport events and normal tv watching and DVD's.

thanks,
