Where is NESN HD????

Does anyone know where to find NESN HD? I live in Vermont and receive a SD feed of NESN on channel 623. I spent over 2 hrs on the phone with D* this morning and no one seems to have sufficient info to tell me. I even had to refer all the reps to their own news release regarding todays launch.

When the reps plugged in my zipcode (05641) I was first told I should be getting it on my SD feed channel and then I was told Red Sox Games would be on channel 64 and Bruins games on 65. I said well what about your 24/7 HD coverage and was told today at one point that NESN HD will not be a continous feed, only certain programs and games. I told them if that was the case then they are misinforming their customers. The last rep told me that games will be on channel 96. No one can get it right!!

I was infuriated with all the reps because no one seems to have an answer to this. Is anyone receiving 24/7 NESN HD and if so what channel? Has anyone else spoke with D* this morning for some answers. Even their supervisors are uniformed!!!!!! Just looking for some help!!!

Here is what DTV CSA have on the NESN ????'s

NESN - New England Sports Network

Regional Sports Network (RSN) - See RSN Coverage by Zip Code to find customer's local RSN(s) and HD availability.

As with other RSNs we carry, out-of-market customers can get NESN with Sports Pack or Total Choice Premier, but they won't have access to professional games.
In addition, due to agreements between NESN and Major League Baseball (MLB), NESN does not have the rights to deliver certain programming, licensed by MLB, to out-of-market customers.
Out-of-market customers will not get programming such as Red Sox Classics, NESN Retro, Red Sox Report, Red Sox Rewind, Boston Globe Pre-Game Report, Sox in 2 and Prime Time Sox Double Play (game replays), and Red Sox Now.
If out-of-market customers want Red Sox games, offer MLB Extra Innings.
Customers are not charged additional costs or surcharges to get NESN - it is handled the same as other RSNs we carry.

...The last rep told me that games will be on channel 96. No one can get it right!!According to the channel lineup on the D* homepage, the Sox/Royals game will be shown on channel 96 (listed as "RSN") at 7:00 PM. No other NESN programming is listed, although last week's news release indicated NESN would be broadcast 24/7.

-Update-

Direct tv called me back today and first told me I am in the DMA spot beam and should be able to see a HD game this evening on channel 96. When I probed for more info from the rep regarding the news release of the 24/7 coverage she got back on the line saying she had gathered more info and apologized saying that directv is not carrying NESN HD at this time, it was a mistake that they released that info and they do not know when NESN HD will be available. I was baffled because 2 minutes before that she gave me different info. As a new customer I really don't know what to think of these D* reps. If someone ever does get better info regarding NESN HD I would love to hear it!!

Agree that it's frustrating that if you call 10 different CSRs at D*, you're likely to get 10 different answers to your question.

As a MLBEI subscriber and high def, I'm wondering if I'll get the Red Sox games like I get every damn Yankees game.

I still only show 1 channel 623. Where do you live? Did you do anything, like reset the box, to get it to show up?

Me too! There's the SD channel 623 labelled "NESN" and then another 623 labelled "HD" on my channel guide. Oh, and it only shows up on my H-20 (MPEG4) receiver. My Samsung SIR-TS160 HD receiver (MPEG2 only) still just shows the SD channel.

Is anyone getting the Red Sox in HD right now? I only get the SD transmission. I am in the Hartford, CT area. Any help would be appreciated - the DTV CSRs don't know anything.

I get NESN HD. It is right next to NESN SD channel 623. But anyone notice the picture is a little choppy??? Guess they are still working the bugs out.

I am extremely jealous of all of u. I'm a Sox fan stuck in Ohio, and I can't get that spot beam. I'm stuck with the Indians in HD.

But I'll be at Fenway 8/11 v.s Baltimore.

Just spent over an hour with DTV tech support - they don't know why I cannot get NESN HD. I am in the proper area and have the right equipment. They are "escalating" the issue - we'll see what happens. Anyone in central CT getting the HD feed?

I'm curious if you'll get it in Hartford because I'm in the Hartford market also. There were rumors floating around that all of us in CT are going to get screwed. Only MA will get NESNHD and only New York will get YESHD and SNYHD. My mpeg4 equipment is scheduled to arrive on thursday. I was hoping other CT residents would post that they were getting NESNHD. I may cancel my upgrade tomorrow if no one reports it available.

Yeah, am familiar with the thread, but not the newest posts. It's very probable I'll be canceling my upgrade. Signing on for 2 more years years and only getting CBSHD out of it doesn't seem worth it to me.

The DTV HD tech support guy checked my zip code, etc. and said I should be in the region to get NESN HD. I will not be a happy camper if I cannot get it here (although my upgrade was free, so I'm no worse off I guess).

Did you upgrade to the h-20 yet. I think you need the new dish to receive nesn hd.

What range of miles do you have to be in to get in on the spot beam?

What if I'm in Michigan but "move" to NY? Would I be too far away to even try and pull that?

I spoke to DTV tech support and a supervisor. They said the area for the spot beam is only about 50 miles away currently. Therefore, it looks like those of us not in eastern Massachusetts are SOL. Supposedly, this will be improved as the year goes on. We'll see. Anyone else get a different story?
