when using a 5.1 surround system w/7.1 reciever

heres the deal. i just bought a yamaha rx-v659 which is a 7.1 reciever. the speakers i bought (polk audio rm-20) is a 5.1 system. should i have the rear speakers on the "surround terminals" or the "surround back terminals"?

i have the older version of this receiver the rxv-650. use the surround terminals for a 5.1 setup. then if you decide to upgrade to a 6.1 setup use the ( L ) surround back terminal.

i suggest picking up some bananna plugs for this and any receiver that can use them. it makes hookups changes to the system much easier. plus there only a few bucks. also what speakers are you running with your system. some speakers that are either bipolar or have built in subs ( like the ones i have ) mess with the auto setup. you will get error messages if you dont do certain things during the setup.

those should be fine with the auto setup.
