Financial Times:

The company blamed high inventories of flat screens for crimping margins. To counter this, Mr Wirahadiraksa said LG Philips would make temporary cuts to production. In the third quarter, LG Philips expected its average selling price per square metre to fall by about 5 per cent in the third quarter and said its earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation margin would be in the “low-teens range”.

Isn't LG one of the largest LCD suppliers on the market? It seems I read that someplace. It maybe that people just aren't buying their brands.i've read overall LCD sales were up.

LG/Phillips makes one of the best LCD panels for OEM computer montiors. The panels are very good and affordable. I believe the big DELL and Apple LCDs use LG/Phillips panels. Not many people buy Phillips/LG branded monitors though probably because there's more to a monitor than the panel.
