I am trying to replace my 7 year 35 inch Sony CRT.
I will probably won't get the HD receiver (my cable company doesn't have CableCard). I am going to use just regular cable for while.
I don't watch much DVD, plays some games but mainly just watch regular TV.
Two TV I am considering is

SONY 50" KDF-E50A10
Panasonic 52" PT-52LCX65
Both are LCD RPT.

I saw them separately in person, and think both are fine to me.
Which one should I get?
Any experience?
Also I heard CRT projections are fine these days...any comments?
Since I am going to use just regular analog cable right now, which one should I get?
Thanks

Well, you shouldnt be getting a tv thats gonna cost you thousands of dollars if you are gonna get at least Digital Signal.

And since you are getting HD or Digital....I would say still go with a flat screen, but get EDTV (Enhanced Definition TV).

You wont be able to get a HD Picture, but you will get a better pic then a CRT. Also, you will pay half the price for a EDTV then a HDTV.

For example, here's some:

Lastly, I would save your money for now until you can get something other then a analog signal for a TV that costs over 500 bucks :P

Buying an HDTV and not getting HD service is pretty much a waste of time. The picture quality of SD is not the greatest on an HDTV. If you are only going to watch regular TV then get a CRT based HDTV. If you are going to do this venture, then make sure you get one with a built in ATSC tuner as so you can put up an antenna to receive OTA HD broadcasts. I am going to assume you went to a store to see the HDTVs in person? You were more than likely watching HD content. Dont be disapponited when you get this TV home and the SD cable picture does not look near as good as what you saw at the store.
