i have just bought the Prima lc27r25cd tv for the bedroom. when reading thru the manual it stated that i should avoid having any stationary elements on the screen. i thought lcd tv did not have any burn-in issues.

Curious what size screen is that? By the model number it looks like a 25 or 27 inch?
No, LCD, normally does not. They can get a temporary impression if very high contrast is used. But normally reverse the condition over time.
Many manufacturers use that statement in all their user manuals, regardless of display technology.
