I have seen ifo for both it can accept it and it cannot. I asked a guy at Circuit City and he first asked why I wanted to know, I then told him and he said that there is nothing out that uses 1080p and I then told him that the PS3 will. I guess he was mad that I was asking him something that he didnt know. He then said that it can but it upconverts it to 1080p. At this point I just said thanks because he didnt have a clue. He also acted like an Ass the whole time. Will not but from Circuit city when I make my purchase.

Apparently is does accept a 1080p input and displays it as 1080p. All other inputs ( 480i, 480p, 720p, and 1080i ) will also apparently be accepted and scaled/deinterlaced internally to 1080p for display.

I guess the guy at CC talked himself out of a sale. That person probably wont last that long. I always say you never win an argument with a customer. He should have just answered your question or found out about it.

Yeah not only did he not know he had to get all mad and acted like I was stupid or something when I know that I know more than him. It sucks because where I live in Indiana there used to be a really good smaller chain called Ovation and they really knew what they were talking about and they switched from retail to all home installs so now I have no one to go to and get a reliable answer for anything.

The fact that he got mad is a bad sign. The fact that he didn't know the capabilities of a TV that is not yet released can be overlooked IMO. Regardless, I wouldn't buy a tv from CC anyway :)

He obviously doesn't work on commission :) If that is how he is treating customers then he definitely won't last long. He should be jumping for joy because CC is one of the few retailers receiving any appreciable inventory of that model.
