One thing I noticed was left out of that article was just how bad ass a computer you need to watch HDTV even just shuffeling data from a tuner to the graphics card. Many people with 2.8ghz PCs complain about playing HD clips from their hard drive. Streaming over the internet? I don't think it is much beyond theroretically possible today. Maybe there is some confusion between the internet and local IP adressable television within a providers network, but still I can't see the throughput being there for streaming.

check out "I'm Instant Media". it's like a rss subscriber, geared toward video. they have a couple feeds that are HD, RocketBoom and BuyTV. They are in iHD, haven't researched that yet, but it looks good and runs perfectly on my 1.7 Ghz notebook.

they use some type of caching tech and download in the background. BuyTV is produced by buy.com, it's basically an infomercial, but curiously it has commercials within it....RocketBoom is a short subject format program. last week they went to the museum of moving pictures.
