I just bought a new 50 inch SXRD tv. The picture has a very slight tilt in it. Is there an adjustment for this in the service menu? If so does anyone know how to access the service menu or should I just have a technician come out?

Regarding "tilt", there are no service controls for this. Position and size yes, tilt no.

A manual manipulation of the light engine is required and a Sony service tech or qualified ISF'er should do the job.

The Sony Tech can fix the problem and it should be a warrenty call.

The ISF tech can then deal with WB controls and gamma issues if you desire the best image.

Good Viewing,

Thanks for the info. I had a feeling there wasn't an adjustment for this in the service menu. Do you recommend having a ISF tech come out to deal with this and also to calibrate the tv for best possible picture. Do you know of anyone that does this in my area? I live in Bradenton, Fl. Also is there a noticeable difference in the picture quality on digital and high def channels after the calibration functions are performed? Tv is less than 30 days old. Matbe I should just return for an exchange or is picture tilt a common problem?

Thanks
Doug S.

Take it back before the 30 day return policy runs out. I dont have a tilt problem with my 50" Jan build SXRD.
