RCA HD receiver w/out DirecTV?

I'm wanting to buy an RCA DTC210 HD receiver, 2nd hand, in an attempt to receive HD channels. However, I only want to use the unit for OTA signals. Does anyone know if the RCA receiver will prevent me from using it without subscribing to DirecTV? Can I use the receiver solely for OTA HD to my HD-ready TV?

Thanks,

JS

I use my deactivated RCA DTC 210 for strictly OTA programs. You will not be able to get full program guide info since the local stations don't include everything they should in the OTA program info, but otherwise everything is beautiful.

Thanks, OG. You understand exactly.
