Hey guys... what kinda of High Definition coverage of the NCAA Tournament is Direct TV offering... I used to have Direct Tv HD and then switched to comcast. Comcast does not carry CBS in HD for me and I would willingly switch if DirectTv is offering coverage...

first two rounds bout 70% of the games were in HD. third round (NOW) all games have been in HD to this point. Plus with the Mega March Madness Pack, you get EVERY game... and most in rounds 1 and 2 were in HD and all are in HD the rest of the way after that. Pretty damn happy with this pack on DirecTV

Yeah, it's pretty comprehensive, but you should also look into getting an OTA antenna if you are within range of getting your local CBS HD signal. Assuming your within range and your TV has a built-in tuner, you can be watching the Elite Eight games this weekend! :) If you haven't already done so, check out www.antennaweb.org.

Just an FYI for future NCAA tournaments (and some already know this so this is for those who don't)...Here in Seattle, I was able to receive 3 games at a time with an OTA and the standard D* channels. One game would be on the D* local CBS (7), a different one would be on my OTA digital HD CBS channel (7.1) while a third would be airing on a secondary OTA CBS (7.2). Pretty cool stuff. While only one would be in HD at a time, it was nice to save the money on buying the package.

Assuming you're ok with only one of the games being in HD. :) I for one couldn't bear switching between games while going from HD to SD so the package was worth it to me.

Interesting quote. I too was receiving additional games via Brighthouse cable in Orlando FL. They (BH) set up an additional channel for this. CBS HD is channel 1060 in my area. BH opened channel 1061 to air a different game, offering two games at once.

After day one, I was excited about this. One problem, day two no more extra games. I called BH and ask why. There response was that CBS would not allow them to transmit extra games, and there was nothing they could do.

I'm sure CBS and D* had something to do with this as it breeched D* March Madness package. Oh well, it was nice to have for one day.
