Last night both NBA basketball games were advertised as in HD

and neither was broadcast in HD...only the half time show was in HD..

did TNT issue an apology.

Yes, I just got DirecTV HD last weekend and I was really looking forward to watching the TNT games on Channel 75. Boy, was I disappointed. It was just a lousy SD game stretched out to 16:9! Do they really think that people with HD wouldn't notice?! I got DirecTV mainly for TNT and ESPN in HD, but so far it looks like a waste.

Anybody know why TNT had problems last night?

TNT HD may not be the best HD channel even where they are not having broadcast problems, but it is still better than TNT SD.

I would rather have seen DirecTV add a number of other channels, but I'm still happy to see something rather than nothing. I'd also like to see more channels added beyond TNT. I just hope to see them add HD channels with real content before we get the 1st HD shopping network.

Agree with mike855 something is better than nothing, and we have gotten nothing from D* for so long, it is pleasant to finally get something.

I'm not so sure...these endless Law & Order marathons add up to nothing after a while.

I agree with you. It seems everytime I look to see what is on it is Charmed or Law and Order. Just how many of those shows did they make? They must show a season in one week. It's rediculous. Week after week. Whether the picture is good or not , the programming sucks. I understnd it is nice to have another HD station but how about one with more than two shows the majority of the time.

I don't know ESPN seems to be doing a good job.
I just watched the NBA Detroit vs. Miami game and it looked great :)
The only thing I watch on TNT is NASCAR, that tooo looks great.

I Wonder if Directv has addressed the SD stretched to HD With TNT

does anybody no if the people who have TNT HD via Cable have the same problem or is it specific to
SAT :(

I doubt it that it's just satellite, where the main ones complaining.I e-mailed TNT last month and I haven't gotten 1 reply. They know there programming is shody. My friend had voom before dish bought and was mentioning TNTHD compared to other channels on voom.In his opinion it wasn't true hd but somethings better than nothing. We keep writing TNT maybe they reply to one of us.Charmed,Law and Order and X-Files.If this is the best they can offer.I rather have nothing because I don't watch TNT anyway because of the rerun marathons.
