Need Help Choosing an HDTV!

When it comes to HDTV, I'm at a moderate level. I know enough to sell one to a casual walk-in, but I am having a real hard time choosing a CRT HDTV for me. First off, I am a low-budget college student. I currently have about $650 some odd dollars I am willing to put on a television. The two I am down to are the following:

Toshiba 26HF85 26" Widescreen HD-Ready Flat Screen TV
$350 plus shipping

Samsung TXR3075WH 30" Widescreen Dynaflat TV
$500 plus shipping

I am debating on which to choose and I'm really looking for something to work on my game consoles especially Xbox 360 and the upcoming PS3 since I am a hardcore gamer and movie person. I need all the help and recommendations I can get. If you don't think either televisions are good, please recommend me one. Thanks!

I'm also a gamer and own a 360, I was going the same route as you a few months ago, then I saw some good LCD's and that steered me away from CRT. I ended u spending just under a grand for a 32" LCD.

If your gonna get a crt, I suggest the 30" Wide Sony for about 700 -800 bucks. Best crt I found for the price, plus its bigger than the 26: samsung. Wegas are the shit and Sony CRTs are built like tanks and last forever.

Heres the Sony I'm talking about

Sony KV-30HS420 30" FD Trinitron WEGA HD-Ready Widescreen CRT TV

Hmm maybe I should just get an LCD. What do you think of the Samsung LN-R268W 26" 16:9 HDTV Ready LCD TV - HDMI & 15-Pin RGB PC Input? I can get it for 850 with shipping.

Are you living in a dorm? Just remember that the LCD flat panels can be stolen very easy. Those widescreen CRT tube HDTVs are heavy so it would be harder to steal, but also harder for you to move yourself.

Check out the Olevia by Syntax LCD panels if you want to go that route. You can get a 26" LT26HVX on sale for about $500-600.00 after rebate too! My friend has that model and he loves it for his bedroom.

Happy hunting!
