Greetings,
I jsut bought my first HDTV and moving into new home. Does anyone know if HGTV in HD is going to be coming on Directv? My woman watches it religously and I fear for my life that when she sees the difference in regular TV on HDTV sets and or 36 CRT set. From what I understand regular TV is really bad on HDTV (DLP) sets. Any rumours or what not?

One can never be too sure what programming is coming on DTV in the future. Stuff usually just appears with little announcement.

I have a Toshiba 46" DLP and the SD channels are very good.
From what I've hears DLP is better than plasma and LCD as
far as watching SD channels.

SD should look better on a HDTV not by much but a little. its the drop you get from watching HD channels back to SD that you feel the pain

SD program source will never looks as good on a really large screen set as it can on a 30 some inch CRT. You can't expect a signal designed for a smaller screen to look as good when it's been blown up and stretched out as is done with large screen sets.

With that said, good qlty DVD's and some SD ota tv can and does look decent on my set. Not nearly as good as a HD digital source but pretty darn good.
