Seein' how Dish Network's new receiver,the VIP622, is so new and MPeg 4 is just breaking out, does anyone know as of yet how, in the future, will the current set of 1080P HDTVs will be able to pass through the 1080P signal via the HDMI cables which supposedly don't? And why not if you think you know? Thierry

The HDMI/DVI/component outputs should handle 1080p because it's the same bandwidth as 1080i. Example:

1080i = 1920 x 540 @ 60 fields per sec {30 fps}
1080p = 1920 x1080 @ 30 or 24 fps

720p = 1280 x 720 @ 60 or 30 or 24 fps

I don't think digital broadcast TV will use 1080p even though it's in the 18 ATSC format because of CRT in the market place.
