I have an 55" Philips LCOS monitor the picture is awesome but in the past year i've developed dust blob.Philips came out the frist time and clean the mirrors and lences,6 months later it showed up again.Me and my wife saw how Philips cleaned the tv and we opened it up and cleaned the mirrors and lenes. But we were so nerves,it was like operating on a human body.We were both sweating like crazy, is their any other way to get rid of dust blob with out going through those precedures.

First of all, good job on the DYI. It really is not too bad of a job and after the procedure is done a few times... quite easy.

To help with elimination of the reccurent problem, vacuum frequently behind the display. TV's create their own electromagnetic field that attracts dust particles. Keeping the area clean around your components is the best first defence.

Hope this helps some,
