Sound Problem!!!

i have a sony kdf-e50a10 tv.have had it about 10 days.the sound on the video inputs is all messed up(voices are high piched and garbled)but when i put it on the coax(cable)the sound is fine.it has done it a few times and when i pushed the input button and cycled thru the sound has come back.now it won't come back.is my sound card bad?

are the cables in the proper inputs? often enough because it is in the rear and difficult to see, a port that is for another input is used by mistake. I have done it many times. dble check. if still bad just continue to do what works.

cables where the first place i checked.i even switched some cables.it does it on the comp. cables and the hdmi.i thought hdmi had sound but nothing comes out when by itself(might be because it is a dvi(cablebox) to hdmi).thanks fot the help.anybody else have anything?

Which cable box are you using? Have you set up the Audio section of the cable box in it's menu to match your sound set up with the TV? When you connected thru component, did you use some RCA cables for the sound? Need more info to offer help. HDMI is sometimes tricky and glitchy, so concentrate on the component if possible with the rca and let us know how that works.

i am using a comp. cable that has all 5 wires hooked together.also tried another comp. cable i had and it did not make any difference.the box is twc motorola hd box.didn't see anything that looked like a model # on front or the back?
