Been thru almost boguht this and that over the last month or 2 and I think I finally found one. The local Sears outlet store has the Toshiba 56HM195 for 2300 plus 10% off. Looks like a fine HDTV. Anyone got one or anything good or bad to say about it? Heres the rundown on it. My main thing was I wanted a big screen and I agreed to find one that my GF could get a entertainment center for. Shes like the big oak things with pillars and Im kewl with that. 56 seemed the biggest I could go.

i used to love this tv but now i am not to sure. there seems to be alot of people complaining about the bulbs poping within a few months purchasing the set. they are also claiming the the replacement bulbs are on back order for up to 2 weeks. that shows me that toshiba is having a big problem. also you need to know that if the bulb pops the customers are being told that the replacement is only under warranty for 90 days. you would think toshiba would honor the time left on the original warranty.

i will suggest that you buy the service plan that covers bulb replacements for the life of the extended warranty. make sure the extended warranty has unlimited bulb replacements for the life of the ew. other then this issue i have read nothing but great things about this tv. hope this helps.

Sears has their own plan but its like 499 for 3 years. Guess it would be worth doin a reliable one tho rather than a gamble online repair plan.

Or I could jsut wait and go back to Sharp 56DR650 at costco. No need for a warranty there. They take back anything.
