Install Not good

02-03-2006, 04:53 PM
Dish was supposed to come out today to install dish 1000 to upgrade my dish 500. They were supposed to be at my house 8-12. They finally showed up at 2:30 with no dish and a 411 receiver not the VIP 211 that I ordered in the upgrade. Bottom line they are coming back next Sat with a 411 or a 211 because the installer said he didnít think they had a 211 in stock. SHOULD I TAKE THE 411 IF THEY BRING IT OUT? What is the difference between those 2 receivers?

What is the difference between those 2 receivers?

I believe it is only that the 211 has Ethernet and the 411 does not. Someone correct me if I'm wrong here.

Thanks, That is what a couple of other people have said so I guess if they bring out a 411 I will take it.

They just finished installing a 411 and Dish1000, for $49.00 + Tax $53.50 total.
They kept my old 811 and Superdish.
The ONLY difference in the two receivers is an Ethernet port on the 211/VIP211.
I was told I wouldn't need the ethernet unless I had a pocketdish for file transfers.

Ethernet port is the only difference between the 411 and 211 receivers. The Ethernet port is for future use, nobody has heard anything about what it will be used for. The USB port is used for the Pocket Dish.

The 411 has a USB port but the 211 has a USB and an ethernet port.
The Dish installer told me the ethernet port was for the pocketdish, maybe he was misiformed too?
