30" CRTs - any feedback on JVC or Toshiba

Wanting to go HD but starting to get very budget minded so looking at 30" CRTs.

Does anyone have experience with the JVC AV-30W585?

Also, the Toshiba 30HFX84 seems to be getting trashed in a lot of forums. What's the deal?

How come you're only interested in those 2 models? Budget minded? Check out Walmart's Sanyo HDTV. Many vouch it as the "best bang for the buck" set. I have the Samsung TX-P3071WH, and I'm really satisfied with the price I paid. There are so many different 30" sets, as well as opinions. My advices is to "window shop" as much as you can. Also, you can always return a TV set if you don't like it.

Another note: I've seen many bash the older Toshiba 30HF* series, but make sure you're not confusing the older model with the new 30HFX84 model. The 30HFX84 is the only tube HDTV with 2 HDMI inputs.

Never said it had more than 1 HDMI input. The new 30HF...X...84 has 2 HDMI inputs.
