My gf bought the 28" sanyo with her discount at walmart for $400. I was messing around with the settings and I set my cable box to 720p. When i watch HD the tv says it's displaying 1280*720(60p). No where does it say in the manual about displaying 720p, it only says 1080i. Is the tv really displaying it in 720p? I didn't think tubes did 720p. My living room tv does not support 720p and if I turn the cable box to 720p then all I get is a scrambled picture like it's suppose to be so I know it's not the cable box.

The Sanyo is format converting the 720p/60 signal to 1080i/30 for display. CRTs can't produce progressive scan formats higher than 540 lines. You should change the settings in your cable STB to output 1080i for this TV...
