Attached is a copy of the letter I sent to the Proeident and VP NE Sales regarding the issues I have with the Mits 1080p DLPs'.
These issues would apply for the whole line since the chassis is simialr (AFAIK).

The issues are;

1. Power comsumption when off; 65 watts (doing nothing),
2. Analog 4x3 material gets 3 inches cut off the sides,
3. Analog channels are in mono,
4. Remote commands are sluggish and have to be repeated (occasionally) to get a response (not just channel changing).
5. Channels get added to the list after a scan is done when PPV cable channels appear and disappear the night before. You have to delete each sub-channel one at a time with as many as 6 and 10 of these appearing out of no where.

Notice I haven't even talked about TV Guide which I never enabled knowning ALL the problems with that joke. They couldn't get their magazine right, why would their electronic version be any better!

Mits admits to most of these issues BTW. They won't do anything about it.

I received a phone call with a message that Mits is authorizing the store to refund my money since there is no way they can resolve these issues.

Video Bruce, we back in 1998 purchased a 50" top-of-the line Mitsubishi RPTV. I don't remember, but I think it was a Diamond line. It had the gloss black cabinet which was beautiful. Anyway at the time it was over $4000. The set had very poor convergence on the right-side and when I obtained the access codes, the grid pattern was slid way left so the right-side could not be adjusted. I went to the store (Good Guys) and put their floor model into factory adjust mode and theirs was just as bad. I called Mitsubishi and ended up getting a call from the Plant Manager in Mexico. He told me it's a firmware defect and no solution yet. He offered to buy the TV back (via Good Guys) which I accepted. Not only did I get a full-refund including delievery fees, they also paid for everything I bought that day which was around $200 of monster hookup cables. Bery nice indeed. I then went and bought a Pioneer Projection and it's been awesome. Now I have the D-ILA that's not so awesome.

Now the story has changed a little. It was suppose to be a full refund, now it's a exchange for another model, different manufacture. :mad:

Knew I shouldn't of dealt with the store I did.

What a bum deal. I had two Mits high dollar VCRs and both of them died a peace at a time. Functions like search to marker disappeared, then one button programming stopped working, etc.

No Mits for me.
