I like how the excuse if Box Office was down = low disc sales.

What studios even regularly release catalog titles anymore? It seems like most farm them out to other distributors who charge $30 a pop on a 30 year old film.

Taking out the Netflix/Amazon/Hulu SVOD you get a total of $15M

Adding up disc sales and rentals, you get $11.6M = 77.6%

Disc sales and rentals are $10.3 billion, not $11.6 billion. And at least $7 billion of that is DVD revenue.

He wasn't talking about declining disc sales- he was talking about the accelerated decline compared to previous years.

This from the HMM article about 2014 box office value:

But things aren't as bad as they might seem, industry leaders maintain. They note that the box office value of films coming to video during 2014 was down even more than consumer spending totals, and this undoubtedly depressed sales numbers.

Box office value was only down 1.3%, while Blu-ray/DVD were down 10.9% (Blu-ray 9% and DVD 12%).
