Is HR20-100 compatible with F6300 Samsung SmartTV?

Would anyone happen to know if my HR20-100 is considered a "Genie" HD-DVR receiver?

The HR20-100 is connected to my main TV and rather than buy a second receiver or a Genie-Mini, I'm considering a Samsung F6300 SmartTV.

I called DIRECTV and while the customer service representative said the HR20-100 will suffice, I have my doubts. The rep didn't sound very confident when answering my question.

To activate the Samsung TV you still will charged an extra $6 to get D* on it No matter How you go about it - Mv the Hr20 to the Extra room & Get a genie or another HDDVR .

No, the TV acts like a Genie client so it needs a Genie (HR34 or HR44) to work....

They still charge $6 for adding the Client (TV) no matter what -also keeping the hr20 the OP would not lose his saved recording

I agree but not sure why that is relevant.
Q: Will the HR20 drive an RVU TV?
A: No
Q: What will drive an RVU TV?
A: An HR34 or HR44 Genie

Having an RVU TV connected to a Genie server as you say costs the same monthly as any other additional TV, but it means you don't have to buy (lease) a mini-genie client, or an additional receiver/DVR.
