EA makes me eat crow

I have been pretty pissed as of late with EA as I have not been happy with the way they have been changing the industry i.e. on-line pass, subscription based gaming etc as well as I just simply don't like origin. So outside of BF3 I haven't bought anything from them in a year or two but that ended last weekend when my wife saw the new SSX on sale for $29.99 (xbox360) and got it for me.
I absolutley love it. Good graphics, new intuitive analog control scheme ('classic' controls still available if you want), Expansive topography based Mountain ranges all over the world. Each range has it's own unique challenge such as avalanche, huge chasms, massive runs across ice sheets, High altitude/low oxygen runs, darkness with freezing temps - all of which require special gear such as ice hooks, supplemental O2, body armor, and my absolute favorite - the wingsuit. Going off A peak into mid air and then gliding over to a spot to land with your wingsuit kicks ass. The game is pure excess (much like a cart racer and not a sim) and that is half the fun. The story mode is fine but the on-line model used is genius and relies more on besting your friends runs times, trick score or other criteria and challenges change daily. Geotags are a cool idea - you leave yours on the mountain as you descend and the longer it stays there before somebody finally runs over it garnishes you more points

A few things need fixed such as the store system sucks - you only get to see 3 or four random items and each time you buy a new one takes it's place but you have no say in what is offered. but once you buy it it stays in your inventory. A traditional race mode with more than 3 others racers would be nice because the peaks are so big with so many different routes you may not see your fellow racers for most of the race.

All said this game has shut up my bitching about EA for a while. You give me a quality game for $30, let me earn my gear with performances not extra cash, tremendous replay / staying power and I will buy it every time.

This makes me happy and sad I DIDN'T but it when I saw it on sale at Best Buy for $29.99 too.

I loved SSX/Tricky/3 but hated On Tour and pretty much felt the franchises was ruined even after trying the PSP version (which was suppose to be more to it's roots.)

I'll have to see if I can scrounge up enough change to get it. Best Friend's wedding is bleeding me dry :(

Unrelated Rant: fucking groomsman, cheap SoBs don't want to spend a freaking dime. ARGGGG

If you loved SSX Tricky or SSX3 then this game is for you.
