I have been reading here, other forums, and user manual but can't find inforamtion to help me decide on equipment to request a DISH system.

I hope some knowledgable individuals can explain and answer my questions.

The enviroment is:
---------------------
TV1 - a HD 3D in living room near all feeds, currently DTV SD, and OTA, BluRay and RAM Disk tuner/recorder.

TV2 - a SD tv in bedroom, currently OTA, converter box and VHS recorder.

Computer - MediaCenter with SD capture, currently OTA and converter box.

I think that a VIP722k (3D capable) with OTA module option may satisfy our desires, but have several questions that I can't seem to find answers to.

I have read that 722k with OTA can record 4 channels simultanously.
I understand then can only watch one pre-recorded show on a single TV. (now I have another question....which TV monitors the prerecorded?)

Questions for 722k with OTA module installed:
-------------------------------------------------

(Q1) While recording 2 Sat channels, can any OTA channels be viewed independantly and by which TV(s)?

(Q2) While recording 2 OTA channels, can any SAT channels be viewed independantly and by which TV(s)?

(Q3) Will we get the 1000.2 dish and LNBf for a VIP722k, HighDef Programing pac, AM Top 200, and 3D capability / or will I have to force the order? Like what determines which Dish & horn will be installed on the roof?

(Q4) I am assuming from between the lines that HDMI and YPbPr component and/or audio/video rca ports have output at the same time? Because we have a player that needs the HDMI unpluged before the other outputs will work, can't have both connected at the same time, it's either or, and the player is only a couple months old.

(Q5) Will having another receiver without DVR along with a Duo VIP722k cost extra programing or lease?

Okay, alot of questions but hope I can get some answers from this intellegent and helpful community here at the HIGHDEFFORUM.

Thanks and regards from JR.

Actually, you can watch two different prerecorded shows (one on TV1 and the other on TV2) while recording four other shows.

Q1) Yes, on either or both TV1 and TV2. (Example, you can watch local channel 3 on TV1 and local channel 5 on TV2.)

Q2) Yes, on either or both TV1 and TV2. (Example, you can watch SciFi on TV1 and TNT on TV2.)

Q3) Depends on where you are. You will get Eastern Arc (1000.4) or Western Arc (1000.2).

Q4) I assume that too, but I haven't tried it.

Q5) Yes.

joegr - thankyou. thankyou., ....5 times thankyou.

Hope your not leading me on, because that is just what I wanted to hear on all 5 Qs.

I think you should get the commission (if there is one) for my soon to be placed new sub.

thanks again,
from JR

The HDMI and component ports are outputs from the receiver, which are active allowing 2 TVs connected at the same time but the picture will be the same on those 2 TVs (TV 1 output). The component cable does require an audio cable for sound.

Good to know. I probably won't be using it in our everyday setup, but it adds some flexablitiy in case we want to plug in some "view master" type optics and shut off the big screen. I am pulling bunches of wires now and installing wall jacks for ethernet, telephone, sat-in, sat-out, and two ota antennea coax in....
Can you imagine the old days when you just plugged it in and rotated the channel selector? Now a days, we have to read a 166 page manual for selecting and recording and another 140 page manual to operate the HDTV, but once you know how, then it all seems easy.
