Acoustimass 5 series II and sony receivers

10-15-2005, 08:36 PM
Before I begin, yes Bose is garbage. But how can I hook this trash up to my str-de995 Sony receiver. All I get is one volume...loud. The Bose manual claims I need a variable output receiver. Is this accurate? I have heard that I can use this system with my receiver. Any suggestions? Another Bose-o with Bose!

i don't know what kind of BOSE speakers you have, but here is connection set up, from your receiver connect two wires of Front speakers (Left/Right) to input on BOSE bass module and from BASS module output front LR goes to your speakers. Center channel some times connects same way i suggested above. sometimes it is connected to out put of Center channel of you receiver to Ceneter speakers. Surround speakers are connected to out put of your receivers to speakers.

Now in speakers setting in your receiver do following.

Front speakers (set to Large)
Center (large if it is connected from BASS module)
Center (small if connected from receiver directly)
Surround (small).
Subwoofer connection (NO)

this should work.
good luck
