Sony LCD Tvs

I'm returning my Magnavox DLP for a myriad of reasons and I've been investigating the Sony LCDs. There's two WEGA LCDS, the KDF-50WE655 and the KDF-ES50A10 and they both sell for around the same price. Anyone have either of these and/or can tell me which is better or if there is a difference? Also, they both have this thing called DCR (Digital Creative Reality) that's supposed to improve the SD broadcasts? Is this a myth? Any help would be appreciated.

The 'iris' in the A10 will likely yield better contrast than the older technology. But other than that, there are no great differences I can tell.

DCR along with other 'enhancments' can yield better viewing of SD, etc.

The objective is adjusting each input for it's intended material.
But the better the quality of the signal, in particular digital programming, the fewer enhancements you should need.
Overall, the best initial adjustments are using Avia, etc. to set a baseline. Beyond that a professional calibration would likely yield the most accurate settings.

I have the KDF-50WE655, bought it at Costco, it included the glass stand which goes for $250 - $400 for $2200

I love it...Like anything it takes some time to get used to the functions, play with colors and such but happy thus far...

hey I got the kdf-e50a10 from 6th ave electroics. I paid 2100 plus tax, you can find them for under 2000 on the internet but the places that sell them are drop ships and 90% of them are in new york city. Your trusting them with a large amount of money, but I'd much rather spend the extra 200$ and know where Im getting it from. Anyway I absolutely love my sony, I have owned many sony products 2 TV's a viao laptop, DVDS player and a DVD recorder and I have had no problems with anything thus far... Go with the Sony if you ask me...

I picked up my KDF-55XS955 this time last year when I was in the market; no complaints to date; great HD picture, etc.
