I am looking forward to integrated search.

New personal and social features including Cloud Storage for Game Saves and LIVE Profile
Beacons and Facebook Sharing
Enhanced Family Settings
Integrated voice and gesture controls across the dashboard and in apps
Bing voice search (Available this year in the US, UK and CA)

In addition to all these great dashboard features, starting on December 6th and continuing on an ongoing basis through the holiday months, a wealth of new content will be coming to Xbox 360. New, customized applications for television, movies, internet videos, sports and music will begin rolling out from world-leading providers in more than 20 countries.

No one needs a browser on a game console. It's 2011. Get a tablet, smart phone, laptop, netbook etc. Surfing the net on a console is useless. It's so damn clumsy.

I tend to agree with that.

Indeed, I often browse while using my primary display for content viewing. There is something about browsing that seems well suited for close display.

I have a pc hooked up to my avr and a million smart devices so it is easy for me and not a big deal but the god damn console is 7 years old and they want to do everything with it except wipe your ass but the simplest, most logical thing is still missing (btw there are at least 50 functions the xobx does that I will never use or wouldn't use before a simple browser) - I would bet the xbox team could put one in taking maybe a half a day or part of an afternoon.

Why bother with a web browser when few will use it?

Just because they can does not mean they have to. The PS3 and Wii browser are pretty meh (when I used them - all of once).

I don't know that few would use it but just for the fun of it it would be cool with kinect to voice browse the web - sometimes technology is fun for it's own sake. There are times when I am playing that it would be simpler to use a browser to look something up real quick w/o having to fetch another device and /or switch inputs grab another keyboard etc. It is about having the basics before you add fluff. As stated they already have a ton of features that I never use what is one more that should be there?
