129 is experiencing technical issues, and they're aware of the issue.
Let's just hope it doesn't take longer than a few hours to get back up.

Just got their site up and this was posted.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 13, 2011 - We are currently experiencing an interruption affecting the 129 orbital satellite location causing an HD signal outage in some areas. We have identified the issue and are working as quickly as possible to get your channels restored. We apologize for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, change your HD settings to receive channels in Standard Definition:

211, 411, 211k, 222, 222k, 622, 722, 722k receivers: Press Menu Select Preferences Select Guide Display Set Channel Preference to HD & SD Select Save

922 receiver: Press Menu Select Settings Select Guide Display Set Channel Preference to HD & SD Select Save Verify that the SD version of their locals is now visible in the guide

looks like some hd channels are returning now. some of my favs are still off.

IMHO with more and more people getting into HD you think the TV Programmers would have a quicker fix when these things happen. SD was working the hole time! :huh

I think everytime something like this happens Dish should offer a free Month of HBO to Everyone! since they would not rather refund us 10 or 20 bucks off our bill.

Here in San Diego Sat 129 carries most of my "Favorite" channels and they are all gone. I have a strong signal for 110 and 119 but nothing for 129.

Let's hope Dish gets it fixed soon.

Article from Engadget.

If your Dish Network-connected TV is claiming total signal loss, then at least take comfort in the fact that you're not alone. While the company hasn't revealed exactly what the problem is, Facebook and Twitter posts indicate a "technical issue" with satellite location 129.

We aware of current signal issues related to high definition programming and based on our current estimates, the situation should be corrected overnight and your HD channels should be restored in the morning. In the meantime, you can unplug your receiver from the main power source and plug it back in to see your standard definition channels. Unfortunately we do not have any additional information at this time, we apologize for this inconvenience.

Also, It is no longer necessary to manually change the Channel Preference on your receivers. To have the SD channels show in the guide, all you need to do is a front panel reset on the receiver (hold the power button on the front of the receiver for about 7 seconds).

Matt, its been over 24 hours and the HD has yet to return.
It's just not an HD issue as a lot of channels that are even partial HD have gone to black.
We can't get Discovery, History,Tru, or any Sports
We can get TMC, Western Channel, G4 and sometimes SyFy and some local channels.. its really a mixed bag..
did the satellite glitch? What is the ETA for California now?
We never in all the years with the Dish ever had an issue, not one.

Unplug the receiver for 15 seconds, then plug it back in and let it reboot.

If they're still not there, run a check switch test by pressing menu-6-1-1-check switch- test.

Hope this gets them back up and running for you
