Samsung LCD LE37A556P1F issue - Not Image Retention, what is it?

07-05-2011, 05:59 AM
Hi guys, I'm hoping that you'll be able to help me because I'm now at my wits end, but I'll start from the beginning.

I have an LCD Samsung TV and have had it for two years. Three weeks ago I watched 4:3 show for about an hour or two. After this I noticed a line down the right side of the TV when the Borders where. I know this is image retention on an LCD ( as it can't get screen burn). I've now spent three weeks trying to repair this by using a plethora of methods:

Snow wash
White wash
Alternating White/black screen wash
Leaving the TV off for a long period of time.

Now of these have affected it at all which I found odd because IR is supposed to be temporary. Which has led me me to think it's something else...

I've noticed that on the right side of the 'line' it is significantly brighter. So I no longer think there is a IR line, the brightest is creating a line.

Does anyone know what this is or how it's caused. But more importantly how can I fix this? I am really anal about screen cleanliness and blemishes so this makes it hard for me to watch the main TV in the house...
