I'm in the market for buying 50"-55" TV.

1.) What are the major differences between Panasonic GT25, GT30, VT25 & VT30 series?
2.) Does any of them use Matte screen?
3.) Costco is selling 50GT25 for $880 whereas I can get 50GT30 through EPP from Panasonic for $1425. Is GT30 worth extra $550?
4.) What is the cheapest going price for 50VT25 & where?
5.) What is the approximate release date for VT30?

Thank you!

You would be best served by reading reviews of these models. I will say this - the 30 (2011 models) series have an improved video processor, more features, a little better black levels that aren't supposed to rise (according to Panasonic) and they look better.

The VT30 is already available for sale.

Thanks for your replies.

1.) What is ISFccc & CONEQ in VT30?
2.) What is the cheapest going price for 50/ 55VT25 & where to get it?
3.) Do you think difference of $550 betwenn GT25 & GT30 is justified?
4.) I know, Plasma is the best. But will I get better PQ, contrast, etc. in any of the LCD TVs @ around $1500 (50"-55")?

55VT30 is out of my reach. Have to decide between 55VT25 ($ ?), 55GT30 ($1750 @ Pana) & 50GT25 ($900 @ Costco).

Thanks!

No LCD can compete with the black levels, contrast and shadow detail of a plasma save the Sony 929 which is extremely pricey. I would recommend the 30 series as they have improved video processors and according to Panasonic don't have the same rising black level problems that the 25 series does.

Imaging Science Foundation sets the standards for calibration of TV's and a model that has this feature will be able to deliver a more accurate picture.

Hope this helps...

Saw the 65VT30 in BB. Unfortunately, couldn't compare it with Samsung D8000 series since both were running different programs.

Also, they'd a 50GT30 in another room & not connected with HDMI so difficult to provide an unbiased opinion.

In all, VT was impressive but it may be a bit big for my room. Billy Joel live concert shot in BD showed noise in black (dark) areas. Also, noise & limited resolutions from SD broadcast can be clearly seen at 10-11 ft distance but does not bother as much at say 14-15 ft.

Also, must say that Samsung too was very impressive based on whatever programs they were playing.

I think I'll stick to VT30. I wish they come out with 60VT30 model. 55" is a little small & 65" is a little too big. Both GT & ST series has 60" model.
1) Does anyone know if Pana has any plans?
2) Do you think the price will go down during Memorial Day week-end?
3) I can buy under EPP. What is the lowest $$ you've seen for 55/65VT30?

Thanks!
