You know what sucks is that I cant get CBS in HD through dish. I have the OTA and can get it but my tivo PVR doesn't recognize those channels. So I call Dish and they say that CBS is on the 148 bird in LA. That means a third Dish for one channel. I dont think so. Anyway they said to call CBS in LA and get a waiver to get the CBS in New york since it's on either 110 or 119 or 61.5 which I get. I call and CBS says that its illegal to get any HD programing that is not from your own timezone. Analog is OK but not HD. Is this stupid or what!!!

:) I don't need an OTA to get Dish CBS HD..I qualify to get it directly through Dish network itself without an OTA antenna.

I live in the LA area and I am getting the NY CBS HD feed. I just called DN and told them that I wasn't getting the CBS HD on my programing and after a few minutes the customer service representative came and told that I did qualify to get it. But he told me that since I had a dish pointing toward the 61.5 sat (my voom channels) and not to the 148 sat, I could only get the NY CBS HD feed because it is on 61.5 sat and the LA CBS feed is on the 148 sat. I didn't have to ask for any waiver from the CBS LA. I remember reading something on the DN website that states that you only need a waiver if you live in an area serviced by an independent affiliate to cbs which is not own by CBS but CBS in LA is owned and operated by cbs.

Chek this on DN website under High definition programming and the click on CBS HD more info.

I hope this helps.

I read and here is what it says:

You must not be in range to receive the signals of a CBS affiliate from a nearby city. For instance many people in Baltimore (an O&O station market) are in range of the Washington DC CBS affiliate. These Baltimore residents cannot receive the HD feed without a waiver from the Washington DC CBS affiliate. The logic behind this is that the owners of the affiliate station do not wish to lose viewers to the New York or LA CBS station, generally a loss of viewers leads to a loss of ad revenue for the station.

I guess that means that I have to get a 148 sat.

just called and complained. I said that since I ordered the HD Package that they should have installed the 148 dish also. They put me on hold then came back and said that I can get the East coast CBS.

Thanks roadrunner!
