Hey everyone,

Picking up brand new Panasonic GT25 3D plasma tomorrow.

We have comcast and have their high def. box with DVR. I also have an Xbox 360. So what do we need to hook this bad boy up and get the best picture?

I saw on here somewhere that people are ordering high quality connectors through some website for cheap. What is that website and what should I order?

Is there anything else you guys can think of?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

A lot of us use www.monoprice.com (http://www.monoprice.com)

Get a HDMI cable for the cable box and 360 and you should be all set. Do you have a AV surround system?

Thanks for the response. How do I know which cable to get for the cable box and the 360? I looked on monoprice and I'm lost...there are so many cables! I am not that good with technology to know what I need.

No AV surround system....have to talk the wife into that one....Plus we are just renting for now so how would we go about that since we can't put wire through the walls?

Thanks again,

Nick

Do I need male to male or male to female?

Also whats the difference between 28 AWG and 24 AWG? Is 24 better?

I guess you're an Xbox. I'm more an Atari.

Male on each end and either will be fine for 6 feet or shorter. Longer than 6 feet the 24 ga would be better.

I suggest picking up one or two extra hdmi cables since they are so cheap and you're paying for shipping anyway. That way if you decide on a blu ray player down the road or a cable goes out on you you have them on hand. Also those thicker hdmi cables don't flex very well so if I have a short run I prefer a 28 awg.

Monoprice also sells port savers of various types which are very handy if you plan on wall mounting your tv.

Thanks everyone.

I think I will pickup a few extra since they are so cheap.

So, would this one be ok?

I think that's the right one? Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Or could I mix it up with some of these colored ones?

http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10240&cs_id=1024008&p_id=4024&seq=1&format=2

I'm assuming the first link I posted above is better? It would be nice if I had 3 different colors so I knew which one was going to what.

Good choice, right price I would order an extra ( in case you add another component). I use only black with a tag on the display end for identification.

Either cable will work fine.. Since it is only 6ft, I would go with the 28 awg myself. More flexible.. But not black would be less noticable if you care about that.
