RCA L40FHD41 no audio

This TV is 14 months old, which means it's 2 months out of warranty

Here's the situation:

It started as no audio from any input when you turn the TV on. You could hear faint popping in the speakers when adjusting the volume - but still no audio. Wait 5-10 minutes, and the audio would come on and work perfect until the TV was turned off. Even if you turn it off and immediately back on, you have to wait again. Now I don't get any popping, just silence. Usually I have to wait 10-15 minutes for the audio to kick in, but sometimes it NEVER does.

Tried a hard reset (disconnect power for 1 hour) per RCA, no luck. Opened up the TV for a visual inspection, nothing obvious.

Any ideas? Or do I have to spend several hundred at a repair shop?

Open it up with the power unplugged and look that the capacitors. are all those cylinder shaped capacitors flat on the top as they should be or are some swelled? If swelled that is the problem, and the capacitors need to be replaced and soldered in.

I'm not familiar with the outputs on there, but could you try hooking it up to an AVR or external speakers to see if you get sound? That might prove to be a cheap solution.
