I was wondering what the trick was to getting my scientific atlanta 8300 hdc box to pass through the hd signal to my tv?? I tried turning the box off and holding guid and info keys on the unit in but nothing. Any ideas? I have a 50" 720p plasma and have it set to 1080i on the cable box. Is this best or should I change it to only display 720p or both?? Thanks for any help you can provide.

My neighbor asked me to also help with this and the way I did when I had TWC is NO longer available. You cant set newer 8300 boxes to passthrough anymore. It drove me mad trying to find the option.

Let me know if you find out but I believe they killed this option! :banghead:

Do you have an option that is called "Native" if so this is the same as passthrough

Are you using the new Passport Echo interface versus the old SARA interface. If so and according to this thread on the AVS forum press Settings > More Settings > Video Output Formats and make sure any resolution you want to display on your TV are selected.

Also see the Setting the Video Output Format section of this manual.
