Is it bad for your TV if you keep the highest Resolution setting on all the time?

I like the 1080i setting, but will it shorten my TV's life if I keep this setting on constantly? If it doesn't...why even have the option for 480p and 720p, they clearly don't look better? I need my TV to last at least 7 years, that's why I'm concerned about longevity.

The 480p setting is for DVDs and the 720p setting is for compatability of some STBs. The resolution setting will not change the life of your set.

STB = set-top box...your cable or satellite box that you "set on top" of your TV. :)
