KYW radio, 1060 AM, Philadelphia's most popular radio station, today has named High Def Forum as one of it's "Web Picks." Just confirms what we all know - this site is well-done and of great assistance to us all. Much continued success!

A link to the selection follows (and it looks like the headline writer needs spell check!) :)

Ironic??? Hmmmm, let's see.... The byline on the article was 8/26. Could it be that the overwhelming popularity and reception of that article is what crashed the site????? I'd rather see the glass as half full rather than half empty.

Congratulations to Cass and all the others involved with High-Def Forum for hosting an EXCELLENT website!!! :bowdown: :yippee: :thumbsup: :yippee: :thumbsup: :yippee: :bowdown:

You could be correct Cat as the reason given to me was a bandwidth exceeded error. That usually means a lot of traffic.

Hi All,

KYW Radio's Web Pick was quite an honor to receive however was not the cause of the site being down. At this time I would prefer to not point the blame at anyone. However, new upgrades will occur in the near future.

I don't see any posters from Philly on this site..... :D

If they are listening to AM radio.. how smart could they be. :confused:

Thanks for the up-date...... :hithere:

Probably about as smart as the people who still watch analog TV... :D

Come to think of it, that includes me and my 22 year old 19" RCA. Ooops!!!

I don't think we are comparing 'apples with apples here".
Some of us are STILL on analog TV because of the PRICE!
I would love to have HD in my house(several rooms) and a nice big garage( like some poster on this site), but all of this takes MONEY.
I am in the process of remodeling an old house, basically replacing everything in it. If you are not 'up to speed' on the price of building materials.......... stop in at Lowe's/Home Depot and check-out the price of copper pipe/fittings or lumber.
I mentioned AM radio....... because of the music. Most people I know listen to FM(maybe 107.7) or they play cd's in their players, they don't listen to music on AM stations.
AS I said before..... I would like to buy a 37" LCD HDTV to go along with my Yamaha TSS-1 sound system, but its a question of MONEY not a denial of HD technology. I'm not even on cable or sat.; do I miss cable TV sure........ but that's not the point!
* I'm probably even a bigger baseball fan than you........ I should be, I played for 27yrs.

Best wishes.......

Best wishes.......You might try picking up an older HDTV tuner for $100 or so Zenith etc with an RGB output - hook it to your computer monitor voila $100 near HDTV - or buy a HDTV tuner for your computer for about $150 new.

Maicaw....
Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm looking for a TV for my new living room. I'm in the process of opening up the wall between two houses to make one large room.
So you see....... I need the room, before the TV. Some people might buy the TV first......then the room, but I'm not on that train.
Wall,doors(double hardwood),carpet, ceiling tiles........then the TV. Its only MONEY.......... :D
Sorry for going off-track........... :rolleyes:
* I think I'll be buying a 37" LCD.

* Enjoy your posts..........
Best wishes.......

While people don't listen to music on AM radios any more, AM is still bigger than FM when it comes to listeners. They listen to political talk, news, sports and sports talk. The revenue for AM is big. Linbaugh, Imus, Stern (moving to sat) Hannity, Beck, Combes, Savage, Rohme along with many local shows are huge. Nobody in FM comes close.

So it could have been with analog TV as there is a market for SD analog that would mirror the AM markets. But analog has been doomed by our government.
