Kamspy, you better put your checkbook in some lock box and throw away the key, as it looks like Genesis games are coming to Steam! I have held off buying many Genesis games for the XBL Arcade as those games are obviously tied to a console that will have an end of life at some point in the future. PC games are almost forever!

I just hope this is popular as i'd like to see more than this initial offering.

Heh, I wonder about that since it is coming to Steam and Macs use virtually the same hardware as PC's now. It is funny how there are so many people who don't want to pay a price premium for a Mac desktop, and end up creating their own Hackintosh systems now.

However, you could always buy a PC. You won't need much in the way of hardware to run old Genesis games so it should be cheap. However, you probably should wait as this is something that could come to Macs as Steam is just getting setup for you guys.

It should run on Mac, probably just some closed DRM emulation software.

Imagine - a Sega licensed official Emulator. Haha. I wonder if ROMs will work on it.

I have all this stuff in other SEGA packs. If it goes on sale for like $3 one day I'll swoop it for sure.

But it's a SEGA PC product, so therefore it's 100% Guaranteed to have some amount of severe jankiness in it.

The Club is the only example I know that fully bucks the trend, and it shipped without CD Keys and it's a GFWL game! Other than that small gaf it's a great PC game.

It will be nice to own these titles in legal ROM form on a infinitely backward compatible platform though. All games should get a timeless release.;)

According to that article, $2.95 is the starting price for many titles! I just hope that Streets of Rage will come to Steam some day. I've been waiting for it to come to XBL, but it doesn't even though the sequels came out a while ago.

Ugg, why do you want to play SoR after playing the vastly superior SoR2?? If you have SoR2 for 360, lets play it online sometime. I can't think of many other genesis games I'd want to play...now if this was about DC games that would be a totally different story. Besides both 360 and PS3 have genesis collections for about $19 with over 40 games. Seems like PC is being ripped off :what:

They do, but they also have no original Streets of Rage. When it comes to these types of games, i''m a collectionist and like having it just so that I have the complete set. If you would like to play SoR2, let me know as i'd love to play with someone. I am usually not free till weekends though.
