Hi. I am looking into purchasing a 120GB hard drive digital HD camcorder. I have it narrowed down to 2. The JVC GZ-HD620 HD Everio and the Sony HDR-XR150 HD Handycam. I can get the JVC (for $510) and I can get the Sony (for $580 - but only for 3 more days before it goes back up to $700). So I need advice ASAP!

One of the main things we are wanting is high quality indoor/low light video. We don't care about the still shot features (b/c we have a Canon digital SLR.) We like the fact that the JVC comes with a remote, but its other features seem fairly basic. We know the quality behind the name Sony and love all the extras, but it doesn't come with a remote (and is priced $70 more). Does anyone have an expert advice on which is the better purchase? Thanks.

In that price range, look at the Canon's http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/682488-REG/Canon_4060B001_VIXIA_HF21_Dual_Flash.html
It also comes with a remote - has 64gig onboard flash,,and if it's half as good as the HF20,,,,delivers fine HD.

+1 Camera buying is like tire shopping. Would you rather buy your tires from a company that also makes refrigerators or from a dedicated tire company. (I know bad analogy) Go with Canon you won't be disappointed and the HF21 is the same as the HF20 just with more onboard storage so it will have amazing picture quality.

Thanks for your input. I actually looked into Canons (b/c that was the brand we owned before and know they are high quality). However, they are out of my price range. I am looking for a quality HD camcorder that will take nice family videos in indoor/low-lighting with built in hard drive for only around $500. The Sony goes back up to $700 after May 22, so that's why I was trying to find out any info I could on the JVC and the Sony b/c those are the two I am looking at for sure. If anyone has any info on either of those 2 camcorders, I would REALLY appreciate it, seeing as how I only have 1 more day to decide if I want the Sony or not (b/c I am NOT going to spend the regular $700 price when it goes back up.) If I hear no feedback from anyone and the Sony deal passes, I guess by process of elimination, I will be getting the JVC (which is regularly priced only $509.) Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks!

I know you've already said you don't want a canon, but for that price you could get 2 32gb SD cards and it would be the same price as the sony. And I know you think you need 120gb but unless you plan on recording 24/7 you will never use all of that space. I still think your money is better spent on a higher quality camera.
