HELP! Cannot Upgrade Firmware

04-01-2010, 10:03 PM
I have the Samsung BD-P3600 and have not run into a problem at all since I've owned it...until now.

I use this everyday and have performed every firmware update available via wired ethernet internet connection. Every one has completed without a hitch.

However, I CANNOT upgrade to the newest firmware, version 2.7, no matter what I do! I tried to do it twice via internet like I always do, and it froze on the processing screen both times. I let it run for over an hour on the processing screen just in case it was dragging its feet, but it completely froze up. So I tried to upgrade via USB and it did the same thing. I went back to it the next day and attempted it...still the same result.

Player is still functioning properly, no problems at all except for this annoying problem.

Any suggestions?

Maybe call Samsung and mention this and wait for a new update. It is possible your internet connection lost too many packets so the CDC error correction stopped it from completing which is a good thing that it stopped it if this happened.

It could be a defective firmware that was so defective the player would not accept it which is also a good thing.

I would wait to see if they issue a new update that works after you call them and let them know.

Good luck!
