I recently purchased hd programming and was wondering if it is worth the extra money? When I asked about it they wanted another $199.00 installation fee. I didn't pay that much to have dish installed and hooked up on four tvs.

I very sure Voom went out of business a few month agO. There programing is now carried by Dish Network.

I just got Dish w/HD and they were supposed to include CBS/HD and a couple others but they weren't installed. Called and found out they required a second dish and since they were advertised as part of the HD pack, they came back out and installed the 2nd dish for free.

While the installer was out, I asked about getting Voom and he thought they were on the same satellite, so he installed the dish and I figured might as well try it for only $5 a month and cancelable at any time.

We really like it. Easily worth the $5, but not sure if I would pay $199 bucks for install. I'm an HD junkie too and it is pretty awesome.

Most of us got full dish installs for the 2nd dish (61.5), for $99. I don't know if the price went up,or they are charging NEW customers MORE!

If you are into older movies like The Magnificant Seven era, then the programming is definately worth the extra $5 per month. I don't think I would spend $199 for the equipment though. $99 maybe.

I agree. For me it's worth having someone else do the work, and install all new, even upgraded hardware. That is assuming it is $99 and the installer is competent.

$99 or $199??

Here's the way it works - if you have a superdish the 61.5 install is $199. If you're in Dish500 territory the 61.5 dish install is $99.

But. if any of your locals are on the 61.5 bird - it is a must carry, and is installed for FREE.
