Here's a Vid Doc about how Square worked with Nvidia on the PC version. Specifically making use of the CUDA parallel processing. It's a good watch and shows you how some of the magic works.

Anything above an 8800 will net you 60fps at a good resolution. I'm maxed all the way out with a 275gtx at 1280x720 and it's 60 except for big huge shitstorms. It never get's close to a stutter go. Game runs extremely well and look fantastic. Really great performance : graphics ratio with this one.

But it here for $44. Download now. Unlocks tomorrow around 3PM EST http://cdn.store.steampowered.com/public/images/steamLogo.jpg (http://store.steampowered.com/app/8190/)

Here's the free Demo. Lasts 30 minutes but you can glitch it to last forever. It starts over if you die, and it's only one island, but there's some cool stuff you can get to with the extra time.

Love the demo, love the openness of the game, love the grapple and parachute...

This game is gonna rock.

Are you getting this on PC Keebs? Your 4850 should do fine. It's got perfect 360 controller support with icons and everything.

'Fraid not. The missus loves open world games and hates gaming on the PC. Therefor she demands I get it for the 360.

That said, however, I think I would get it for the 360 anyways. Games like this I really prefer a large screen for, what with all the explosions and everything. :o

Probably shouldn't have bought that immovable 500lb lead PC case buddy.

I'd be miffed if I couldn't hook mine up to the big screen when I get the knack. Only takes a couple minutes.

I can do it... its actually a fairly small case, but I have my HTPC hooked up already in it's spot and in doing that I'd have to completely remove my HTPC to fit my desktop in. When all's said and done it really isn't worth the hassle.

Have you played the PC demo and then the 360 demo?

I did. It was choppy. Plus, you'd save $15. Surely you'd move a computer for $15, or use that $15 to buy a long ass HDMI cable.

I enjoyed the demo too. Will there be any online modes? Should be wild if so

I don't think there's any MP. But it looks like the most fun you've ever been able to have in an open world GTA-esque sandbox game.

Once you really learn what you can do with that grappling hook the possibilities are endless. Plus, the game doesn't try to attach a reason for your mayhem and chaos. It's the goal of the game, to destabilize a country.

I gotta stop hyping myself up or I'm gonna lose $45. Wish there was a good sale on it. Steamworks integration would have pushed me over the top. I'm glad it doesn't have it.:)

I'm playing through Just Cause 2 on 360 right now, and I gotta say that this game surpassed any expectation I had for it, or really a sandbox game in general.

The demo turned some people off, and I can say that the game is much more focused and has much better set pieces.

Graphics hold up great on 360. No screen tearing and great shaders and motion blur.

This game is really an overlooked GEM. I think we'll look back on it as one of the best in 2010. A real surprise hit like Dead Space or Arkham.

I kinda wish they would have changed the name of the game. Just Cause 1 is good, but this is on a whole 'nother level.

Seriously HDF, if this game was exclusive to either console it this game would be 10 pages long by now.

I will paypal the rental fee to anybody who rents it and honestly doesn't like it. It's a fantastic game and Square London deserve to see some sales from it. It would be a crime for this game to be a flop.

Seriously fellas, just Gamefly it, buy it off Steam, go to blockbuster, have it delivered by Canadian mountie, I don't care, just get your hands on it and try it out.

It's freaking awesome fun. Just plain great game.

I have it sitting in my Netflix Queue. So I'll try it out one of these days on the 360.

You gotta learn to use the grappling hook as second nature. You'll cloths lining jeeps and dragging around statues as wrecking balls in a helicopter in no time.

The controls make the game limitless. In a tight spot? Shoot the a propane tank and grapple onto it, let go around 2k feet and parachute to safety. Or hook to a scyscraper and pull your 'chute before you latch, slingshotting you across the city and away from the gunfire.

The possibilities are limitless. It's like playing GTA3 for the first time and passing around the controller with friends.

The demo does not do a good job at representing the game.

i was a big fan of the first one and after playing the demo i realized that i was a fan of the first one because there wasnt much else to play at that time. for a Sandbox im actually more interested in Red Dead, Sabature and Crackdown 2. this game could have used a co-op function.

I've only played the demo, but here is what I have concluded -

-Great environment. The ability to cause mass destruction and the attention to detail (gas tanks launching into the air etc) is great. Reminded me of Red Faction a little bit.

-Gameplay. Sweet. Love the parachute, grappling hook and other elements of the game.

-Controls. Good, but targeting/aiming is bullshit.

-Transportation. Sucks. It takes a long time to get from point A to point B generally.

-Repetitive. I've got a feeling that about the 8 hr mark I would start to get bored. Hard to say though.

Will definitely pick it up as a rental tho after I return Battlefield 2. (which won't be for a while cause I have alot to do still in that game).
