A Few HD and Projection Questions

08-18-2005, 09:43 AM
Hello. I am new to HD and recently purchased a Toshiba 46" projection TV (46H84). I am about to get Comcast HD cable hooked-up with the TV. I have an older Sony surround sound system which I will be using for a short time until I can get a new system. My question is, what cables do you recommend me buying to get the best possible picture without spending a fortune (under $100.00) and how many will I need with the TV, surround sound, and DVD? I have seen some Monster "Video 2" and "Video 3" component cables on Ebay for decent prices. Are these a good choice? Thanks in advance for your suggestions! Jason.

Monsters are overspec'd overhyped and overpriced. Decent cables for 1/3 that much.

You can hookup both your DVD & STB with Component + SPDIF digital audio. If available, you could also use HDMI/DVI from STB to TV + SPDIF.
