Neither - they are edge lit LCD's. If Samsung is the company you want, I would wait until they release their plasma line in May

I have decided I will most likely be getting the samsung un46c8000, I like it's style and have been wanting a led backlit tv. I game alot so I think this will be a better tv for me than a plasma

We game a lot on our plasma and have had zero issues and actually do better with the 2,000x faster pixel response and better shadow detail.

I see, plasmas seem fine, but I just don't wanna worry about burn in so I am going with this tv.

Are you going to use it as a 3DTV also? If yes - you should think twice. If no - have at it.

Then you may not be happy. They have a tendency to show ghosting/crosstalk in the two images.

This is caused by the response time issue and the quality of the shutter glasses - their contrast ratio (remember they too are LCD). Any light leakage to the shutoff eye will also be seen as ghosts.

If burn in is a concern then all you have to do is be a little careful. By that I mean, set the white level (contrast) lower than if you were watching a movie or TV and just don't leave a static image on the display for a long time. It really is not a concern like it used to be.

Most of your games have moving backgrounds?
