Bought Haier 32 LCD Awesome Picture

I just bought a Haier 32 HL32D1 720p lcd tv from 6th Ave for $319.00, with free delivery. I just want to say 'WOW" what a picture. I have a Panny 46g10 and this set has better blacks than my Panny, when my Panny was new. The blacks are black. The set has no clouding and no backlight bleed. The colors are very accurate. I needed a tv for my bedroom and didn't want to spend much, so i took a chance on this one. I didn't see to many reviews on it. Haier company is the fourth largest white goods manufacturer in the world. I use to have a Sammy and a Sony and had clouding issues. If anyone wants a tv for cheap and excellent picture quality, that rivals more expensive lcds and has lots of features, give this one a try, you won't regret it.

Good for you, hope you enjoy your new TV. Don't let Loves2Watch bring you down, he can be very condescending, and is somewhat an elitist.

All that matters is you have a TV you like. Good luck and start watching.

Pleeease, I work in the industry with these types of items daily and only report what the facts bear...And do be extremely careful of what you say about other forum members.

Nothing offensive and nothing untrue. If the guy bought a TV, and is happy with it, who are you to bring him down with a comment like that?

It is a statement of fact.

It is a statement of fact.

That is beyond the point. Here we have a guy who is excited about his TV. He didn't have to take out a second mortgage to buy it, he loves the picture, by all accounts, he is a happy guy. To cut him down like that is uncalled for. It is rude and shows no class.

Kettle meets pot.

You need to remove your rose colored glasses and read into your own words. Here we have an established forum member who only told the guy longevity is an issue with the TV and a newb (you) comes along and calls the said established member rude and classless.

I swear, people are idiots.

Thank you Big for your comment. Yes, only time will tell how long this tv will last, but i got 1yr parts and labor, so to me it's worth it for now, if it plops after that, then so be it. To Santa, i said the blacks look better than my 46g10, i didn't say for every plasma. Why, a lcd doesn't suppose to have a good black level? I'm just saying, compared to my g10.

That is a pretty BOLD statement to make! I find his expertise to be pretty good and I would take his advice over yours anyday!!

I do not give advice, so you don't have to worry about that.

I am not questioning his knowledge base, TVs are a big part of his life.

I am not attempting to slander anybody's character.

I am only stating a matter of opinion based on the sheer number of posts I have read that have a condescending undertone to them in regards to people buying "inferior" equipment.

This guy is happy with the TV he bought. No, it isn't a 60" KURO, nor an 85" Panasonic plasma. It isn't a SONY LCD, it is a Haier. Good for him, no need to ruin his day.

So that gives you the right to call him rude and classless? How can you justify your actions when you are more guilty?

There is and option to ignore posts, with your thin skin, you should employ it.

Yes, actually it does. And to be clear, he has the right to say whatever he wants, as it is protected in the first amendment of our constitution.

I was calling out that comment for what it was. I'm sure L2W is a great guy, and he does know what he's talking about, but there are better ways of making the longevity issue known.

Could have said, "hey, I'm glad to hear you're happy with your TV. I work in the industry and there are issues with the lifespan of these, but good luck, and I'm glad you're happy."

Much less abrasive.

Yet calling someone rude and classless is a better way than saying " Hey L2W, be happy for the guy, yes longevity may be an issue, but it was his choice to buy this particular TV".

I don't get that you feel compelled to speak out of both sides of your mouth.

You're right I suppose.

I reacted out of impulse, without thinking. I could have worded my post better, but my message is the same.

L2W, I am sorry for speaking before thinking. While I got my intended point across, it came out wrong.

This has been an interesting thread.

I just bought a Haier 32 HL32D1 720p lcd tv from 6th Ave for $319.00, with free delivery. I just want to say 'WOW" what a picture.
Yea, I saw that set at my local grocery store for less than $300, and wondered how good (or bad) a deal it might be.
The world needs a decent 32" LCD for <$300.

I have a Panny 46g10 and this set has better blacks than my Panny, when my Panny was new. The blacks are black. The set has no clouding and no backlight bleed. The colors are very accurate.
But, at the same time, let's keep it real.
If the Haier has "better blacks" than your G10, the G10 is broke - get it fixed.
All LCDs have backlight bleed, to say it has none is misleading.
I don't doubt that the colors are accurate.

I needed a tv for my bedroom and didn't want to spend much, so i took a chance on this one. . . . If anyone wants a tv for cheap and excellent picture quality, that rivals more expensive lcds and has lots of features, give this one a try, you won't regret it.
Good advice/suggestion.
My first HDTV was a 32" "off brand" (Scott manufactured by Akai); this was several years ago when $550 was a "great" price for a HDTV.
Yea, I took a lot of heat from the "elitists" for not getting a "real" TV; but for many, an inexpensive "lower tier" set can be an excellent choice. It makes me chuckle when I read about the "quality problems" associated with Samsung and Philips; the buzzing in Sammy plasmas, the "fading blacks" of Panasonic, the uncountable problems associated with Sony products over the years how the only comment offered with regard to this set is "Longevity is questionable... ".
Sounds like it was a wise price/performance decision, as I still belive my Scott was.

p.s. my user name and the TV have nothing to do with each other - pure coincidnece.
