No your TV is not HD. But always post the model number so we can be sure to answer correctly.

No your TV is not HD...
He did not give his model number, please try to avoid spreading mis-information. Sony has had some 36" Flat Screen Trinitron models that are HD. Here are a few, and I'm sure I've missed one or two.

36" FD Trinitron® HDTV KD-36XS955 (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=KD36XS955&Dept=tvvideo&CategoryName=tv_34%22to36%22TVs)

36" Trinitron WEGA KV36XBR800 (http://ostg.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php/masterid=602986)

36" WEGA KV36HS420 (http://about.pricegrabber.com/search_getprod.php?masterid=3142255&search=Sony++KV-36HS420)

willy040900, we need your model number please.

Well, if he knows the model number of his TV, he can easily figure out if it's HDTV or not, right? (some people don't know where the model number is at). Or maybe he couldn't find the TV on the internet.

I think the easiest way to figure out if it's HDTV or not is to go to set-up menu on your TV and check if there is a display option (16:9 (wide or anamorphic), 4:3 (normal or full), zoom, e.t.c). If you cannot find these words on your TV setting, your TV is probably not HDTV.

Component inputs MAY be limited to 480i or 480p depending on their age...

There are always some people who don't know anything about electronics at all. Don't blame on the first post.
