Sony KV32HS420 wont turn on

I have a Sony Trinitron mn: KV-32HS420 Man: June 2005
I recently moved the tv from cali to texas and somewhere inbetween it has gotten fudged up. It rained a little, but i had two tarps over and around the tv. It was completely dry when brought inside. I go to turn it on and, it clicks (normal), i hear brief static from the speakers, than it clicks again.. turning itself off. It only stays on between 5-8 seconds. Nothing is seen on the screen at all. The Stby light flashes 7 times.. pauses for 5 secs, than flashes 7 times again.. and keeps repeating. Its a big ass tv, I brought it to my parents, would it even be worth fixing.. if it is fixable at all? Please help.

Call a Sony repair authorized shop.

The flashes are of course a code that will give them exactly the issue with the TV.

Anything over $100, and rest assured it will be if it is a power supply, you'd be better off getting a cheap panel.

BTW, those were nice displays, but things have changed price-wise on 32" lcd's in the last couple of years that truly make the CRT out of date. Gads, sorry you had to lug that monster from cali to the promised land.

Good luck on the rest of your move,

The code it's showing is for "no horizontal deflection", it's most likely the horizontal output IC or transistor. It could also be a bad electrolytic cap on the deflection board. If you or someone you know is handy with a soldering iron or fixes tvs it would be a cheap fix.

call a sony authorized service center and get an estimate for the repair.

if you feel it's not worth repairing, look forward for a new tv. :D
