NFL Sunday Ticket

I am the only person who didn't know that if you were auto renewed for the NFL ticket that renewal was without HD Games. if you want HD games you must all of a sudden pay an extra $50.00. I don reall that being mentioned while the fat guy is singing and dancing during the commercial. I won't pay it on principal.

After all the months of not using HDMI while they denied the problem. All the hours spent trying to fix the problem with inept technical support reps and the fact that I pay them a seperate fee to see 3 year old olympics and watching a sunrise is what they call HD programming.

There has got to be a better way. If anyone knows of other services that are better for HD please post them.

Thanks

Yes you supply the answer Directv wants you to but in reality when they auto renewed my Sunday Ticket without all the features I agreed to when I bought the Ticket they were not acting in good faith. I agreed to renew what I had last year. What they did amounts to bait and switch. Itís not the money itís the fact that Directv doesnít care about customer support. If you donít believe me do a search for h10 or h-10 and see the lack of respect that DTV gives to their customers. I am asking if anybody knows a better satellite service.

I hope you were joking about us customers having to pay for those commercials.

Sorry if I seem harsh but over the last several months I have spent hundreds of hours trying to fix a problem they would not admit existed and I have spent my money to get HD programming and to be honest the package has very very little variety or choices.

Thanks

While there may be some better satellite services, none but DTV offers NFL Sunday Ticket, so if that's the main reason you have DTV (it's my sole reason) and it's important to you (as it is to me), you've got no where else to go.

The extra charge for the Superfan package has been dealt with here ad naseum...

and another reason I left dtv...new customers can get sunday ticket and premier package for 70.00 bucks a month for 4 months..then go down to total choice. no loyalty to its long time customers

Even if you buy the Sunday Ticket and SuperFan package - you are still not guaranteed the games in HD. DirecTv got smoked by the NFL in the last negotiations and are passing their inept choices on to us,,,at our expense. Switch to Dishnetwork for HD programming, put up an OTA for your locals and save yourself the headache.

oblioman,
I agree. If you do the math on the OTA you'll get 4 hd games on Sunday and 1 on Monday. Screw DTV. But I need to ask a question, what do you mean they got smoked? And by who?

Take it from a former(last month) Dish customer their customer service is not any better, i came to d* cause i wanted to upgrade to hd and dish wanted to charge me 600 bucks to upgrade from 2 to 4 rooms and add hd. It did not matter to them that i was a 8 year customer. And their hd package is not any better, they do have some old voom channels that no one ever heard of. If you ask me they are both the worst customer service companies i have ever seen. If you and i ran companies like they do we would both be out of bussiness. My vote is we start up our own company all sports in hd all the time 24/7/365.

I don't think you'd get 4 games OTA on sunday, the way it has been in my area for the past decade is that either CBS or FOX (AFC or NFC) get's a doubleheader each week, never both at the sametime so you'll get two early games and a late game or two late games and an early game.

The biggest draw for D* for a lot of people is NFL ST....and the main reason is because just because you live in a particuliar area, doesn't mean you root for that team. If I only had OTA last season, i would have seen my team play 3 games out of 16, instead I was able to see all 16 games.

I admit though that if it weren't for NFL ST i wouldn't have anything to do with D*....their other programming stinks for the price a month and upfront cost of equipment.

This little article will shed some light on the power of the NFL and provide an insight as to why DirecTv had to pay more to keep the programming. http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FCL/is_4_33/ai_110312195

I'm not an attorney but if you were auto renewed for the Sunday ticket then you were renewed for what you had last year if they took away HD programming then they are breaching the contract in other words they baited you into auto renewing what you had but in reality it was for less services

http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/guides/baitads-gd.htm#4

They can sell you the Ticket as a new service without the HD programming but not auto renew

That's all I'm saying GO GIANTS

The HD NFL games were never part of the ST package so it's not a bait and switch technically. One only has a case if they can show that the description for NFL ST mentioned that HD games are automatically a part of the package. So they can auto-renew without any obligation to include the HD games.

Last years ST guaranteed no HD,,,just as Sunday Ticket & SuperFan guarantee no HD this year. You most certainly will get some games in Hd with the SuperFan package but it is no guarantee- Caveat Emptor

Sorry Big Guy but HD was an included service for the 2004 ticket.

Therefore when you autorenew you should get what you had.

Reading that press release only tells me that if you have DirecTV HD and NFLST you will receive NFL HD games, but it doesn't say you are paying for the HD NFL games thru your NFLST subscription. That's what makes a switch-and-bait claim viable. Nice try.

Gotta agree with Borromini,,,,2004 ST says "it will offer up to 100 games in HD" but guarantees none.

Sounds like you guys need to, at the minimum, threaten them with a class action lawsuit. But first check any fine print from last year's agreement. I've never had NFL ticket as I got lucky and finally got my season tickets for the Redskins. So I definitely see my team in HD, 3D but not for free that's for sure. Remember the squeaky wheel always gets oiled. Just One Man's Opinion. Peace.
